Only a friend

Friend, this is a term that we all are accustomed with. Man being a social animal needs company. But it is essential that the friend should be of same sex. Man cannot have an attractive friend who happens to come from a father’s X chromosome. Quoting from When Harry Met Sally, “No man can ever be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her”. Though this statement is very contentious but this is the raw truth. So it not surprising that most of us have best friend who luckily happens to come from the same contour group. But does the meaning of friend get contained to this only? The answer is a certain no. So my earlier analogy comes out to be wrong. The term friend can be diverse in itself. A dog can be a friend too. Even it is termed to be the most faithful one. To speak of the reality we all have some very good friends, some good friends and some friends and at last not so good friends. So this is a big classification. And many a times we feel proud enough to list this long/short list and exhibit it proudly.
Many a times we get obsessed with some of the many friends of our list. Some time it ends with big displeasure. So over expectations bring the disaster. I am not trying to conclude anything neither am I suggesting any thing relevant to take up. But the fact also is that books can be friends too. So why not try to befriend them. I have already been unsuccessful in this endeavor of mine for the only reason that I am not good enough at making friends. Attitude is the important term to remember. Thinking books to be lifeless was my greatest mistake. It lives the way as I do. So there is nothing more to elaborate on. For all the readers it is bye from me.
